Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) is a nonprofit R&D organization engaging applied research and technical services. Over the years, ITRI has incubated over 270 innovative companies, including the well-known UMC and TSMC. In addition to its headquarters in Taiwan, ITRI has branch offices in the U.S., Europe, and Japan in an effort to extend its R&D scope and promote opportunities for international cooperation around the world. The Mechanical & Mechatronics Systems Research Laboratories (MMSL) as part of the ITRI, MMSL has been pursuing core technologies of intelligence, miniaturization and green energy for many years. For the future, MMSL will keep working on intelligent robot and automation systems, thin film design & manufacturing, intelligent mechatronics, and advanced vehicles.
